Keyon Dooling won't be coming out of retirement to play for the Celtics this season in light of the team losing All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo to a season-ending knee injury.

Dooling, a former Celtics guard, announced on his twitter account Wednesday that he won't rejoin the Celtics after considering returning following the news of Rondo's injury.

Doc Rivers said before Tuesday's practice that he had spoken with Dooling, who is the Celtics' coordinator of player development, about getting in shape for a possible return.

Dooling told the Globe on Sunday that he would consider coming out of retirement. He retired this summer despite agreeing to a one-year contract extension with the Celtics.
