Celtics starting point guard Rajon Rondo (hyper-extended right knee) will not play against Miami, the Celtics announced shortly before tipoff Sunday.

Instead, Rondo will be heading to New England Baptist to get an MRI for an injury the team said he sustained Friday during the Celtics' double-overtime loss at Atlanta.

The All-Star guard was getting treatment, but apparently his injury was not improving.

Courtney Lee started in place of Rondo.
