Rajon Rondo for Dwight Howard trade report denied by Lakers GM
The general manager of the Los Angeles Lakers denied a CBSSports.com report that the Celtics and Lakers have discussed swapping guard Rajon Rondo for center Dwight Howard.
"I haven't talked to [Celtics president] Danny Ainge in weeks," Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak told ESPN.
According to ESPN, Kupchak was asked if the Rondo-for-Howard notion was discussed the last time he spoke with Ainge and Kupchak said no, and that the concept has not been discussed at all this season.
CBSSports.com reported late Friday that the teams have had preliminary talks on a Rondo-for-Howard deal.
Howard, speaking at the NBA All-Star Game, told reporters the Lakers have told him he would not be traded.
The NBA trade deadline is Thursday.
