Pregame notes:

• The Celtics received letter of clearance from the Guangdong Southern Tigers, officially making Terrence Williams a Celtic. Doc Rivers said he has no idea if Williams will play. He will wear jersey #55.

• The Celtics will spend the night in Los Angeles and fly to Phoenix on Thursday evening, meaning the players will spent the trade deadline in LA. The deadline is at 3 p.m. ET.

• With 28 games left, Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said his club will have to win 20 games to make the playoffs. But with the eighth-seeded Rockets making making moves, it is uncertain if they will drop in the standings, allowing the Lakers to make a run.

• Kevin Garnett passed former Net and Blazer Buck Williams for 11th all-time in games play with 1,308. Garnett should pass Moses Malone (1,329) for 10th later this season.

• A scout with special interest in this game is Jarron Collins of the Clippers, who is the brother of the Celtics' Jason Collins. He said they still talk at least once a day.
