Final: Celtics 118-107: A good win for the Celtics. They shot 54.2 percent and got a triple double from Paul Pierce, his third of the season. He finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Jeff Green led the Celtics with 27 points. Mike Scott led Atlanta with 19 points. Josh Smith and Jeff Teague did not play in the fourth quarter.

Fourth quarter, 1:10, Celtics 116-105: The Celtics on a 7-2 run to seal this one as they will get a key victory to secure seventh place in the East and gain a game on sixth-place Atlanta. Paul Pierce has 20 points.

Fourth quarter, 5:31, Celtics 105-94: Celtics are on a 5-0 run, as Jason Terry canned a critical 3-pointer after the Celtics recovered a major scramble for the ball. Terry has 22 points, 15 on 3-pointers. The Hawks are going with their bench down the stretch. Jeff Teague and Josh Smith remain on the bench.

Fourth quarter, 8:21, Celtics 98-87: It's not over yet, as the Celtics are a couple of play away from making this comfortable but they need to get some defensive stops. Shelvin Mack, who was once playing for the Celtics' D-League entry in Maine, has 11 points and five assists in 19 minutes. Jeff Green has 22 points for Boston while Paul Pierce has 16 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds.

End of third quarter, Celtics 92-80: The Celtics score the final 4 points of the quarter to extend the lead but they will need more quality minutes to seal this one. Jeff Green leads the Celtics with 22 points while Paul Pierce is three rebounds from a triple double. Josh Smith has 18 for Atlanta.

Third quarter, 2:10, Celtics 85-76: The Celtics have been on the verge of breaking this open but the Hawks have scored the past 8 of the past 11 points and are hanging in. Jeff Green leads the Celtics with 18 points as the club is shooting 51.7 percent. Josh Smith has 16 points on 22 shots for Atlanta. Shavlik Randolph has 7 points and nine rebounds in 14 minutes.

Third quarter, 5:36, Celtics 76-65 The Celtics are not playing cohesive but they are mustering just enough to maintain a lead. Jason Terry has 16 points off the bench but has not played in the second half while Paul Pierce has 14. Josh Smith has 16 points but on a whopping 21 shots.

Halftime, Celtics 66-56: The Celtics have seized the lead by way of the 3-point shot They hit a whopping six in the second quarter as they scored 34 points in the period. Jason Terry sparked the run with 14 points in the period while Paul Pierce added 13 in the half. Josh Smith has 16 points on 7-for-17 shooting for Atlanta.

Second quarter, 1:40, Celtics 61-50: The Celtics are on a 27-10 run as Jason Terry has 14 points in the quarter, 12 of those on 3-pointers as the Celtics are shooting 56.1 percent for the game. Shavlik Randolph has been a spark with 4 points and five rebounds off the bench. Josh Smith and Jeff Teague have combined for 26 points but on 24 shots.

Second quarter, 7:28, Celtics 42-40: Celtics on an 8-0 run after falling behind by 6 points. Jason Terry has sparked the surge with two 3-pointers and he has 8 points off the bench. Josh Smith leads all scorers with 11 points on 12 shot attempts. Eight Celtics have already scored.

End of first quarter, Celtics 32-30: It was a defense-optional quarter as both team combined to make 26 field goals while Josh Smith has taken 12 of Atlanta's 27 shots and has 11 points. Paul Pierce scored 8 points in nine minutes. Jeff Teague has 8 points for the Hawks.

First quarter, 2:46, Celtics 25-19: The energy the Celtics are playing with is spreading to Avery Bradley, who has been in a major slump the past month. He has 6 points and two assists while Paul Pierce has 8 points as the Celtics have converted 10 of their first 18 shots. Josh Smith has 7 points but has already taken 10 shots.

First quarter, 8:20, Hawks 9-7: It's a lively crowd tonight considering the Hawks are in town and the Celtics are playing with energy early, which is a good sign. But they are going to have to do something about Josh Smith, who already has 5 points.
