CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- How bad are the (really bad) Charlotte Bobcats? Oh, they've only lost 10 straight games by an average margin of 21.5 points. Oh, they've only had an 18-game losing streak this season. Oh, they've only lost 45 of their last 51 games since winning 7 of their first 12 to open the season.

I could go on and on, but despite how terribly terrible the Bobcats are, they still defeated the Celtics when these teams last played here, 94-91. Granted, the Celtics were playing on the second night of a back-to-back and had just played a triple-overtime game, but still ....

The Celtics also lost Leandro Barbosa to a season-ending knee injury in that game.

Paul Pierce won't play against the Bobcats. He's sitting out his first game of the season simply to rest, Doc Rivers said. Jeff Green will start in his place.

The Celtics are on the front end of a back-to-back and play Toronto Wednesday at TD Garden.
