WALTHAM -- Kevin Garnett (ankle) and Paul Pierce (personal reasons) did not participate in the Celtics' shootaround Wednesday morning.

Garnett will miss his seventh consecutive game Wednesday night when the Celtics play host to the the Detroit Pistons at TD Garden and Pierce is considered a game-time decision.

Pierce missed the Celtics' 110-100 loss Monday at Minnesota and coach Doc Rivers said before that game that Pierce would "for sure" play Wednesday against the Pistons.

Rivers did not elaborate on why exactly Pierce missed the game except to say that, “It’s no injury or anything.”

The Celtics can clinch a playoff spot with a win against the Pistons and a Philadelphia loss. The 76ers travel to Charlotte to play the league-worst Bobcats.
