Faverani injured the knee in Maine's 128-116 loss to Delaware. He scored 27 points with eight rebounds in 35 minutes, but said the knee "hurts" and he will have an MRI on Thursday when the Celtics return to Boston. Faverani has played three games for Maine and said he enjoys the experience, but the question is whether his most recent outing will take him out of the Celtics' lineup.
"He tweaked his knee yesterday so he won't play tonight," Celtics coach Brad Stevens said. "Obviously not what you want out of those types of stints. Hopefully that's a short term, day-to-day thing. We'll re-evaluate that in the morning. He's getting a lot of minutes, putting a lot of points and things on the board and hopefully that breeds some confidence as well."
Faverani said he just wanted to play and get the opportunity to improve.
"I am enjoying it a lot, I love to play basketball, this is my life," he said. "And I have a lot of minutes (there) so for me to play 30, 35 minutes is great."
