It's Miami's only visit to TD Garden this season but the Celtics fans will not get a chance to see LeBron James, who was a late scratch because of back spasms. James was eating ice cream with a ice wrap on his back during pre game and the Heat officially ruled him out. Dwyane Wade, who has battled knee issues, will play for Miami and start.

As for the Celtics, Avery Bradley will start along with Rajon Rondo, who returns to the lineup after taking off the loss to Dallas. Jerryd Bayless will come off the bench.

Pregame notes:

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Bayless was OK going back to the bench after starting in Bradley's absence. Bayless averaged 11.5 points and shot 40.6 percent in 15 games as a starter this season.

This will be the third game James has missed this season. He missed the previous two games with a broken nose sustained at Oklahoma City.

Miami coach Erik Spoelsta said he had to adjust to the Miami roster once he took over as coach and couldn't use his previous coaching philosophy. "It was adjust or die," he said. "

The Celtics are expected to practice Thursday before hitting the road Friday for a game against the Brooklyn Nets.
