The Celtics finish their five-game homestand against the desperate Pistons, who have won both previous meetings and possess one of the biggest front lines in the NBA. Boston is coming off an impressive 91-84 victory over the Brooklyn Nets and are currently tied with the Lakers for the fifth-worst record in the NBA.

Detroit has already fired coach Maurice Cheeks after 50 games, replaced by assistant John Loyer, and have been one of the league's most disappointing teams after adding Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings in the offseason.

Pregame notes:

The Celtics are close to getting Avery Bradley back in the fold after missing 16 of the past 19 games with a badly sprained right ankle. Bradley worked out before Sunday's game and is expected to play Friday against the Phoenix Suns.

The Pistons remain in the playoff race, 2 1/2 games behind the sinking Atlanta Hawks for the final postseason spot in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons' first-round pick goes to the Charlotte Bobcats if it is out of the top 8, meaning if they remain in playoff contention and near the end of the lottery, Charlotte will gain the selection.

The Celtics will practice Monday before heading to Indianapolis for a game against the Pacers on Tuesday night. The Knicks make their final appearance of the season at TD Garden on Wednesday.
