Watch: Paul Pierce reaches 25,000-point milestone

Former Celtic Paul Pierce added another milestone to his resume Friday night in Brooklyn, as he became the 18th player in NBA history to score at least 25,000 career points.

Pierce achieved the feat by drilling a 3-pointer with 3:09 remaining during the second quarter of Brooklyn’s 93-88 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

The 36-year-old small forward is just the fourth active player in the NBA to reach the 25,000 career point mark, joining teammate and former Celtic Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki in the exclusive club.

Pierce scored a staggering 24,021 points in his 15 seasons as a Celtic before he was dealt away to Brooklyn last summer. He currently ranks second behind John Havlicek for the most points scored in Celtics history.

While it’s disappointing that Pierce wasn’t able to reach the 25,000 point mark in a Celtics uniform, Boston fans can still take a fun look back at Pierce’s scoring milestones via a video compilation that the folks over at NBA.com created.

In it, you can watch the former Celtic score his first career point, along with other memorable moments in Pierce’s scoring history on his way to the 25,000 point mark last night.
