Update, 4:33 p.m. Here's the latest on who the Celtics are talking to:
Celtics have upcoming interviews with Dante Exum, Noah Vonleh, Julius Randle and Rodney Hood.— Mark Murphy (@Murf56) May 15, 2014
Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, and Joel Embiid are all absent from this week's NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, but that doesn't mean the event has lacked excitement so far, at least as far as the Celtics are concerned.
The Globe's Gary Washburn reports that the Celtics will interview Kentucky power forward Julius Randle and UCLA forward Kyle Anderson. Australian guard Dante Exum has already interviewed with the Celtics, and Arizona forward Aaron Gordon said he is interested in coming to Boston.
Aaron Gordon said he's interested in the #celtics, eyes lit up when asked about playing NBA small forward, says he can defend small forwards— gary washburn (@GwashburnGlobe) May 15, 2014
Gordon is an intriguing prospect in part because of who he's being compared to. The 6-foot-8-inch Gordon reminds Clippers star Blake Griffin of himself.
“A little bit,” Griffin told SNY.tv “He’s very athletic, he’s got a pretty good motor."
Gordon has been compared to Griffin since high school. Last year, Gordon told the Sporting News of the comparison, "I think I can play point guard and he can't."
