If the Celtics keep the No. 6 pick in the June 26 NBA Draft, there's a good chance they select Arizona's Aaron Gordon, league sources tell Chris Mannix of SI. Here's Mannix's latest mock draft, released Wednesday morning:
Several league sources believe that Celtics GM Danny Ainge is locked in on Gordon. While Gordon's shooting is a concern, he is a strong rebounder and shot blocker who can defend either forward spot and has been compared to Shawn Marion. A trade is possible here, too. Ainge is always on the lookout for a make a blockbuster deal, and with Boston's assets he is more than equipped to do so.
Gordon is a 6-foot-9-inch combo forward with a 41.5-inch vertical leap. As it happens, Gordon is one of the three players I pitched for the Celtics to draft in a feature this morning. Gordon is a man without a discernible offensive weapon, but his athleticism and potential for future development make him too good to ignore. He must improve on his dismal 42-percent free throw shooting.
