If Ray Allen comes back and plays his 19th NBA season, he wants to do it as a teammate of LeBron James, according to an ESPN report.
After considering retirement, Allen is leaning toward playing now, according to the report. Allen and James have become close since Allen signed with the Heat from the Celtics two years ago. The two even vacationed together last week after the Heat lost to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
The 39-year-old Allen averaged 9.3 points per game in the playoffs. He is the NBA's all-time leader in 3-pointers made. James informed the Heat Tuesday he will opt out of his contract and become a free agent. The two could end up staying right where they are in Miami.
