Brian Scalabrine Announces His Return to Boston With Parody of LeBron's 'I'm Coming Home' Letter

The White Mamba is back.

After spending a year in the Bay Area as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors (and their D-League team), the former Celtics forward and broadcaster Brian Scalabrine is coming back to BostonÖas a media member.

Scalabrine announced his return as a broadcaster to Comcast Sportsnet New England in a lengthy and entertaining letter that parodies LeBron Jamesí letter to the city of Cleveland.

Iím doing this essay because I want an opportunity to explain myself uninterrupted...and gather some great press based on another recent NBA signing...in almost the exact same way. I donít want anyone thinking: He and Mark Jackson didnít get along Ö The Bulls and Warriors couldnít put the right team together Ö Does anyone really care what Brian Scalabrine is doing right now? None of these things were true...I may have a press conference, and I am definitely having a party. And all of Boston will be invited. And when we are done, we will still have a few months before we have to get to work.

The former NBA power forward developed a cult-like following during his final couple seasons in Boston before ending his playing career with the Bulls in 2011. After a largely underwhelming offseason for the Celtics so far, Scalabrine's return to the area as a broadcaster might qualify as some of the best news of the summer for Celtics fans.

In order to re-familiarize yourself with the legend of Scal, take a walk down memory lane and check out his greatest moment in Boston: an impromptu press conference after the team's 2008 NBA Finals win, featuring a cameo from Bobby Ramos.
