Pierce left the New England Medical Center accompanied by his brother Jamal Hosey (right rear). Pierce was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times while attending a late night party in a Boston nightclub but returned to the court to play that season. In fact, that season Pierce became the first Celtic to score 2,000 points since Larry Bird completed the feat in 1987-88.
