1967-1968 After falling in the Eastern Conference finals the previous year, the Celtics battled their way through the playoffs again in 1968, taking the championship from (who else) the Los Angeles Lakers. John Havlicek had a tremendous playoff performance (25.9 points per game / 8.6 rebounds per game / 7.5 assists per game), and Bill Russell hoisted the trophy as coach for the first time.
