Feb. 3: Super Bowl stumble

The Patriots entered the Super Bowl 18-0, and seeking the perfect end to a perfect season. They faced the New York Giants, a team they'd already defeated 38-35 to close the regular season. But Giants quarterback Eli Manning orchestrated a stunning drive capped by a touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress to shock the Pats (and the world). New England lost 17-14, and was left to wonder what happened.
