Executive Director of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge welcomed everyone to the Celtics' draft party last night, then had an active evening as Boston drafted New Mexico's J.R. Giddens with the 30th pick of the first round.

The Celtics later dealt for the 47th overall pick, Kansas State forward Bill Walker, sending cash considerations to the Wizards. The Celtics used the final pick of the night on Semih Erden, a 7-1 center from Turkey.
