At 6-foot-10, Perkins is an inch shorter than Garnett, but is also 70 pounds heavier. The fifth-year bruiser projects as the Celtics' starting center.

Perkins, a former first-round pick (27th overall by the Grizzlies in 2003), averaged just 4.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season. He started 53 games, but averaged only 21.9 minutes per contest, due in large part to foul trouble.

Perkins' 2007 salary is $1.69 million.
