Reports indicate the Celtics balked at the idea of giving up Rondo as part of the package that should land Garnett in Boston. Boston traded a first-round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for the rights to Rondo (drafted in the first round, 21st overall). The speedy floor general averaged 6.4 points and 3.8 assists per game, while making 78 appearances (25 starts). Rondo also led the NBA steals per 48 minutes (3.36). Rondo's salary for 2007 is $1.14 million.
