Swamp soccer, beach volleyball, and mud wrestling
An extra-large Big Shots post today brings you racing pigs in Cushendun, Ireland, volleyball-playing monks in Thimphu, Bhutan, and an auto race up Pike's Peak in Colorado. We'll also swim from Asia to Europe, wrestle in the mud in South Korea, and witness an 11-year-old bullfighter in Tijuana. There's much more this week, as usual, and I'm looking forward to bringing you an in-depth look at the British Open later this week. ( 38 photos total)

Monks play volleyball at Dechen Phodrang monastery in Thimphu, Bhutan July 11. Five decades ago, Bhutan was a feudal, medieval place with no roads, proper schools or hospitals and scarcely any contact with the outside world. Today education and health care are free and life expectancy has risen to 66 years from less than 40. (REUTERS/Singye Wangchuk) #

Players are ankle-deep at the Swamp Soccer World Championships in Hyrynsalmi, Finland July 17. A natural swamp outside the town was converted into 22 playing fields for the 325 teams, made up of almost 5000 players from Finland, Norway, Russia, Germany, France and The Netherlands. I'm still trying to make sense out of No. 1. Reminds me of a bad caricature of a character in the Triplets of Belleville.
#24 !!!!
25 looks like a Death Valley Driver!
lol 24 got OWNED. good action shot!
What's the point of photo #1?
How about zooming out to see how well he dived?
Rewind back to see him focus and ready to jump?
Fast forward to see him finish and the water splashes?
This is the best you can do?
Showing the athlete's ugly face during somersault and make fun of him?
All the pictures are excellent ... well, except #1.
Bullfighting is for Savages....if your country practices bullfighting, you are a savage race.
High beams on # 12

People who think bullfighting is for savages are not in synch with the countries culture. The only reason that they fight bulls is to piss you off! How are they doing?
#1 is underwater. those are actually his top teeth.
pic #1
rook at me!
I had great fun at the Mud Festival. I don't think it qualifies as a sport though.
