The 2009 World Games in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

About 5,000 athletes from 90 countries participated in the World Games which took place July 16 - 26 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Athletes competed in 31 obscure sports not included in the Olympics, such as korfball and tug-of-war. The games, which go on for 11 days, are held every four years a year after the Olympiad.
