Toucher and Rich kicked off the "Gronking" craze during the season. The morning hosts on 98.5 The Sports Hub took things to a higher level when they asked three die-hard New England Patriots' fans to put their TV sets at risk of being "Gronked" to test their knowledge of team trivia. Here's the report WHDH-TV Channel 7's aired Thursday at noon:
Scott Mara of Billerica, Jonathan Rae of Quincy and Shawn Marshall of Randolph all put up their TVs for a chance to win tickets to Sunday's AFC championship game between the Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. Mara and Rae saw their sets "Gronked" off the roof of a 2.5 story building in Brighton when they failed to correctly answer their questions. Rae's 61-inch set make quite an impression on the parking lot. Marshall won himself a pair of tickets to Sunday's game for correctly answering "Which Patriots' lineman had the nickname "Hog?" - John Hannah.
But thanks to Paul’s TV, Mara and Rae each got new 51-inch plasma sets for participating.
Coming next? Maybe it will be "Dress In Your Favorite 'Darth Hoodie' costume for Super Bowl Tickets." We can only hope.
