Jeremy Lin has dominated the sports headlines since coming off the bench to help the New York Knicks win seven straight games before Friday night's loss to the Hornets. It's no surprise that the Knicks guard, the media's issues and various flubs dealing with his newfound success and the stereotypes used due to the fact that he's an NBA star of Asian-American descent were all covered in the opening skit on NBC's "Saturday Night Live." There had been speculation during the week that the show would do something on Lin, but the approach was probably not quite what most folks had in mind.

Let's just say this one is not quite politically correct. The skit did a great job poking holes in the double-standard that Lin's Asian background seems to be fair game while comments on the racial or ethnic makeup of other athletes are off limits. SNL also used up just about any possible future use of 'Lin' in headlines. The sketch featured Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, Taran Killam , Jay Pharoah and several "Lin" puns, including: “Lin-cidences” and “I’m Lin love.” You can judge for yourself. Here's the video:

The real Lin plays a real game Sunday at noon against Dallas on ABC.

In December, the show spoofed Tim Tebow while referring to Tom Brady as "God's Nephew" and putting a pair of metaphorical Devil horns on Bill Belichick. And the night before the Super Bowl, did a send-up on Brady in an unlucky love-trist.
