Jerry Remy will not be back on NESN telecasts this season.

Through a statement released on his Twitter feed, Remy said Thursday that "this isn't the time for me to return to broadcasting Red Sox games."

Remy's son, Jared Remy, was arrianged on charges of murder and domestic assault and battery in the killing of Jennifer Martel, 27 on Aug. 15.

"I am full of grief for the Martel family," Remy's statement said. "My wife and I are sick about this senseless tragedy."

Remy's spot in the NESN booth continued to be filled by Dennis Eckersley during Thursday night's 3-2 loss to the Orioles.

Former WEEI announcer Jon Rish will work with Don Orsillo starting Friday and at least through Monday. Peter Gammons will join the booth Friday.
