Selfie Sunday.jpgIt turns out the Beatles were about 50 years ahead of their time.

"Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon unearthed this "never before seen" video of the Beatles talking to their fans after singing "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" during their first appearance on the "Ed Sullivan Show" back in 1964.

The clip comes complete with plugs for the Beatles' multiple social media platforms and various sponsors - who may or may not have paid to be included in this brilliant and original clip. John Lennon [Fallon] tells the crowd "don'f forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter @TheRealBeatlesUK."

It just happened to be #selfieSunday on Instagram that night, too.

And who among us knew that the Beatles live-Tweeted the MTV Music Video Awards the following week?

#RedBullBeatles

The @TheRealBeatlesUK isn't a real Twitter handle because it's 16 characters long and the limit on the site is 15 characters. It seems Fallon and his crew, which included Fred Armisen as Ringo Starr and Seth Meyers as George Harrison, had their bases covered.

Meyers took over as the host of "Late Night" Monday night and Arimsen is his show's band leader.
