1:05 p.m.

4:30 p.m.
Charleston RiverDogs – Gabriel Encinas (3-7, 4.97 ERA, 48 Ks)
at Greenville Drive – Brian Johnson (0-0, 0.00 ERA, 4 Ks)

NOTES: Kyle Kaminska and the Portland Sea Dogs will try again for another matinee start, should the field watering go a little better today. Yesterday was the first time since 2010 that a home opening series at Hadlock suffered a postponement. That year two games against Trenton were called due to rain. In 2007 all four opening games (scheduled versus Connecticut) were scrapped due to snow…Former Boston College and Salem (N.H.) High School hurler Terry Doyle makes his organizational debut for the PawSox today. Doyle finished his 2012 season with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball League…Kyle Stroup will be making his first start since September 3, 2011 while with Greenville. Stroup missed the entire 2010 and 2012 seasons due to ACL injuries…Today marks Brian Johnson’s first start since August 18th of last season when he was struck by a line drive from the leadoff batter in a start at Fenway Park as part of the Futures at Fenway event. Johnson did make four appearances for Lowell last year after being drafted 31st overall, and did not allow a run over 5 2/3 innings.

New England teams
1:35 p.m.
Reading Fightins’ - Austin Wright (2012: 11-5, 3.47 ERA, 133 Ks)
at New Hampshire Fisher Cats – Ryan Tepera (2012: 8-6, 5.48 ERA, 71 Ks)

2:05 p.m.
New Britain Rock Cats – Alex Meyer (2012: 10-6, 2.86 ERA, 139 Ks)
at Richmond Flying Squirrels – Justin Fitzgerald (2012: 7-8, 3.22 ERA, 130 Ks)

NOTES: Fisher Cats starts Ryan Tepera was 7-3 in his first Double-A stint a season ago. A win would give New Hampshire a split of the four game series. The Fisher Cats have not lost a season opening series since 2008 when they were swept by Connecticut…Twins top pitching prospect Alex Meyer makes his organizational debut after coming over from Washington in an offseason trade for Denard Span. In his first pro season the #23 overall selection of the 2011 draft had a 1.10 WHIP and averaged 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings while climbing from Low-A Hagerstown to High-A Potomac.
