NOTE: It’ll be back-to-back starts versus the Chiefs for Alfredo Aceves who went 7 2/3 last Monday in a no decision, allowing four runs on six hits, three of those for home runs. Aceves has gone five or more innings in each of his five starts for Pawtucket and has walked just three in his last two starts after giving up nine over the first three. Jeff Mandel, who has 18 appearances out of the pen this season, makes his second consecutive start for the Chiefs. Last time out he got beat up for six runs and 11 hits by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Wilmington Blue Rocks – Sam Selman (4-4, 4.29 ERA)
at Salem Red Sox – Henry Owens (4-2, 3.21 ERA)
NOTE: Recently selected to his first All-Star game as a pro, Henry Owens makes his 12th start of the season. He has allowed just 38 hits over 56 innings, least of any Sox minor league pitcher with over 50 innings this season. He is also second in the organization with 68 strikeouts. Wilmington's Sam Selman had his shortest outing of the season against the Salem Sox back on April 22nd, going 2 1/3 innings after allowing seven runs and five hits.
Charleston RiverDogs – Brett Gerritse (5-3, 4.76 ERA)
at Greenville Drive – Cody Kukuk (2-6, 5.26 ERA)
NOTE: For the fourth time in his last five appearances Cody Kukuk will face off against Charleston. In his three prior shows against the RiverDogs he allowed seven runs on three hits and 11 walks. His last two outings have come in relief after nine straight starts. As a reliever Kukuk has struck out 11 over seven innings. Brett Gerritse is scheduled to make his first start of the season for the RiverDogs after making 15 relief appearances. He let up three runs and four hits in an inning of work against the Drive on May 18th.
