The Boston Herald has reported that the Patriots have offered quarterback Tom Brady a three-year, $58 million contract extension, citing "sources close to the negotiation."

The Globe's Patriots reporters are working to confirm the report. Keep an eye on the Extra Points blog for updates.

According to the Herald, the extension would begin after this season.
