barscreenshot.jpgThe Miami Heat's loss last night to the Celtics meant a bar in south Florida had to pay up on a promise to its customers.

The Whiskey Tango All American Bar & Grill in Hollywood, Fla., was so sure the Heat would win, it promised to pay the tab (up to $25) of each patron who signed up for the promotion before the game.

The 88-80 loss in the Heat's first game featuring the all-star trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh cost the bar about $4,100.

Still, the extra business offset the loss, according to kitchen manager Dean Reedy.

"It was a really good night," he told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "We'll do fine."

That must be true. An update today on the bar's web site now says it will offer the promotion for every game. Originally, the promise was only for the first time the Heat lost.
