The New Haven Register has reported that a Red Sox fan from New Hampshire is in critical condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital after he was stabbed in an apparent dispute with a Yankees fan.

According to the Register, Monte Freire, of Nashua, N.H., and John Mayor of New Haven engaged in an argument at the Chowder Pot III restaurant in Branford, Conn., that escalated into a physical confrontation.

Mayor was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and several other charges, and was being held on $500,000 bond. Police told the Register that Freire was in Connecticut with friends for a baseball tournament.
