Design student Jimmy Nutini recently posted his vision of what NFL uniforms might look like in soccer-jersey form. Turns out they look pretty cool.
Nutini has home and away designs for 12 teams, including the Patriots (above), with more to come. Many of the designs take inspiration -- or in some cases are taken from -- Major League Soccer. For example, the Steelers' home kit is similar to that worn by the Columbus Crew. Green Bay's away jersey looks a lot like the one worn by the MLS' Philadelphia Union. And the Patriots jersey looks a lot like the one worn by members of the New England Revolution. The design for the Patriots is admittedly one of the least interesting, while the Packers and Steelers jerseys are pretty awesome.
I'm sure there are copyright issues involved that would preclude anyone from actually producing these jerseys, but maybe Robert Kraft, who owns both the Patriots and the Revo, can make something happen.
