Lobster predicts early end to winter
Move over, Punxsutawney Phil.
Loudon, the fastest lobster in the world, emerged from his tank to visit the track at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and predict when winter will end and when racing will resume at the track.
The prediction, from the track's official press release:
According to the direction of the 11-pound shellfish's massive claws crossing the Granite Stripe, there is only one more week until NASCAR racing begins and just five months before the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to NHMS for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on Sunday, July 17.
OK, so technically we already knew this, but it's good to know that warm-weather sports are starting up soon. We covered Truck Day, so why not this? Jerry Gappens, NHMS executive vice president and general manager, helped shovel 55 inches of snow off of the track recently.
"I think we'll be more than ready by July 17", Gappens said in the press release.
