Former UMass Minuteman forward Gary Forbes scored 78 points in a game at the Hartford (Conn.) Pro-Am last Friday night, hitting 13 3-pointers on his way to setting the game high. Current UConn guard Jeremy Lamb had 58 points in a losing effort. Lockdown defense was undoubtedly played by all.

Forbes averaged 5.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in his rookie season for the Denver Nuggets last season, hitting 33-percent of his 3-pointers. An improved 3-point shot could help him get more playing time this season.
