A Philadelphia sports columnist is the latest sports figure to face allegations of sexually abusing children.

Three women and a man say Bill Conlin of the Philadelphia Daily News molested them as children in the 1970s, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported yesterday.

The accusers said they were prompted to take action after reports detailing the sexual abuse case against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky became major national stories.

Conlin, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2011, resigned his position yesterday. Conlin, 77, had worked at the Daily News for more than 40 years.
