The Boston Cannons (9-5) concluded the regular season with a win, 18-16, over The Machine Saturday night in Ohio, in the process earning a spot in the MLL's championship weekend at Harvard Stadium.
The Cannons, who qualified as the No. 3 seed, will look to defend their title as 2011 league champions when they take on the second-seeded Chesapeake Bayhawks in the semifinals on Saturday, Aug. 25th.
The four championship weekend qualifying teams (Boston, Denver, Chesapeake, and Long Island) will participate in a practice open to the public at Harvard Stadium on Fri., Aug. 24th from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Autographs will most definitely be signed before and after each practice.
Here is the MLL championship weekend schedule:
Sat., Aug. 25, semifinals:
1 p.m. -- Long Island (8-6) vs. Denver (11-3)
4 p.m. -- Boston (9-5) vs. Chesapeake (10-4)
Sun., Aug. 26, championship:
3 p.m. -- MLL championship game
