A high school kicker in Washington made a 67-yard field goal and set a state record on Thursday night.

The kick by Central Valley High's Austin Rehkow was from his team's own 43 yard-line as time ran out, and sent the game into overtime. Central Valley defeated Shadle Park, 62-55.

It was the second-longest field goal by a high school player, one yard behind Dirk Borgognone of Reno, Nev., in 1985, according to the National Federation of High Schools' record book.

Rehkow's kick shattered the Washington state record of 62 set in 1929, according to the Seattle Times.
