Former Red Sox outfielder Johnny Damon, who has bounced around the big leagues the last few years, will play for Thailand in the upcoming World Baseball Classic qualifying round.
According to CBSSports.com, Damon's mother is from Thailand.
Thailand opens vs. the Philippines Nov. 15.
Damon, 39, played in 64 games for the Indians last season, hitting .222 before he was released Aug. 9.
