Report: Rivers/Garnett to LA deal awaits Clippers owner's approval
The report says the Clippers management was to meet with Sterling Wednesday and move on completing a deal today.
On Wednesday night, a day after negotiations on the deal were declared "dead" by Celtics president Danny Ainge, talks resumed.
The deal would send Garnett to LA in exchange for center DeAndre Jordan, and the Celtics would release Rivers from his contract in exchange for two first-round draft picks.
According to Wojnarowski, the talks received new life after Clippers guard Chris Paul got involved by telling the team he would be more likely to re-sign with the Clippers if the Rivers-Garnett deal was completed.
"Doc is taking the job to coach Chris Paul," a league source said in the Yahoo! report.
