The Arena Football League team LA KISS has offered former Patriot Tim Tebow a chance to play quarterback.

The three-year deal would make free agent Tebow "millions" of dollars from the team, owned by the veteran rock band Kiss, said in a statement.

"As a former NFL player, the LA KISS will offer intense training and unwavered commitment to the former New England Patriots player, with the hopes to take him to the next level," the statement said. "The chance for Tebow to improve as a quarterback is immense as the AFL is a pass-happy league with 90 percent of the league's offensive plays coming from throwing the ball."

As suggested in this USA Today article, the LA KISS overture is most likely a publicity stunt for the expansion team looking to make waves ahead of its debut.

"Tim Tebow is one of the most recognized and respected athletes in sport," Paul Stanley, KISS' longtime frontman, said in a statement. "His joining us would mean great things for his fans and for our team, especially from a business standpoint. His credibility within the sports arena is paramount and with our commitment to bringing football without compromise back to LA, we're excited to see how this offer turns out."

Tebow practiced and played with New England in the preseason, but was cut when the roster was trimmed down to the final 53 players before opening day.

According to the statement: "If accepted, the contract will need to be approved by both the AFL's Board of Directors and the AFL Players Union."

No word on Tebow's reaction to the offer. But upon being cut by the Patriots, the former Heisman Trophy winner said on Twitter he is committed to his "lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback."
