Looks like SportsCenter retired Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez's butt fumble a bit too soon from its popular Friday feature, "Not Top Plays."
The butt fumble, Sanchez's gaffe after running into his own lineman's backside vs. the Patriots last season, was never challenged from the day it happened in November as the best "Not Top Play." So without a worthy challenger, ESPN retired it Sept. 6.
But the Astros' Jonathan Villar now has one. He tried to stretch a single into a double vs. the Reds last night. Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips was facing the outfield to receive the ball and had no choice but to put the tag down between his legs as Villar dove.
Villar ended up hitting Phillips cheek to cheek. And he was out.
