Former Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester is leaving town with a touch of class. The once (and fans hope future) Sox ace took out a full-page ad in Sunday’s edition of The Boston Globe thanking fans for their years of support. The ad comes just days after Lester and Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes were traded to the Oakland Athletics.

NVRQT is Lester’s official charity, which is dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer. Lester survived his own fight with cancer at the age of 21.
