Phil Kessel is on the ice for this morning’s workout, joining the likes of Byron Bitz, Stephane Yelle and Shawn Thornton on a four-man line. Ease off, haters…..they take turns. Thornton also his been missing in action of late. Ergo, add two forwards to the Black-and-Bruised mix.
Dennis Wideman, who missed a substantial portion of the third period on Saturday, is also back on skates. Ditto for Aaron Ward, who sat out all of Saturday’s matinee–a 1-0 win over the Rangers.
No sign of defenseman Andrew Ference, who did not play beyond the third period on Saturday. Coach Claude Julien could give us an update after the workout…but probably not. Injuries, now a state secret, are vetted by the White House administration.
The power plays have different looks this morn:
One unit: Marc Savard centers Mark Recchi and Michael Ryder (the 3M Line) with Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron above the circles.
Another unit: David Krejci centers Milan Lucic and Blake Wheelers with Matt Hunwick and Steve Montador manning the points.
