PROVIDENCE — Good afternoon from the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, where the Providence Bruins are going their separate ways today after seeing 2008-09 end last night against Hershey.

The Bruins won the first game of the series, but dropped the next four in a row. Hershey will play Manitoba in the Calder Cup final.

“I wouldn’t characterize it as they were the better team. I don’t think I’ll admit to that,” said Providence coach Rob Murray. “But they won the series, so I guess you can say that.”

Of this year’s P-Bruins, two players project to make the biggest push for big-league jobs in 2009-10: Tuukka Rask and Vladimir Sobotka. I’ll have something on Rask, Sobotka, and the next tier of AHLers looking to graduate to the NHL in Sunday’s paper.
