Draft day arrives

ST. PAUL — Good afternoon from the Xcel Energy Center, where the 2011 draft will take place tonight. Puck drop is 7 p.m. ET.

The Bruins, per their Stanley Cup win, are located in the back right corner of the draft floor. The tables are arranged in order of team finish. The Oilers, on the other hand, are sitting in the front left corner.

The Bruins will pick ninth, the final chip of the Phil Kessel trade. GM Peter Chiarelli said he has received several inquiries regarding the pick. However, the Bruins are expected to hang onto the selection. Defensemen are in their crosshairs, with Kitchener blue liner Ryan Murphy among the candidates.
