6:30 — Boston goal waved off, presumably because referee saw Marchand during play before puck went in net. Marchand heads to room in pain, possibly with shoulder injury.

6:18 — Kessel wrister, labeled for top left corner, bangs off crossbar. A frustrating start grows more frustrating.

8:54 — Bruins 1, Leafs 0 — Bourque with first goal as Bruin. Closes to left post off rush and pops in Kelley’s cross-crease feed.

Quiet opening seven minutes. Hockey Night in Canada crew with detailed chart on all of Kessel’s 33 shots that haven’t gone in net this season.

Big man bout around the 2:45 mark, with MacDermid and Fraser trading hefty blows.
