Loui Eriksson out vs. Panthers

Loui Eriksson will not play against Florida tonight at the TD Garden. The forward was not present at morning skate and coach Claude Julien said a “minor issue” will prevent him from playing.

“Loui was in the back room,” Julien said. “He’s got a minor issue that will keep him out tonight, but should be back Thursday.”

Julien declined to be more specific, repeating that Eriksson will be out with an “issue.” A team source said that the issue has nothing to do with the trade deadline, which is tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Jordan Caron, who has not played since Jan. 27 and who has played only twice since Jan. 2, will take Eriksson’s place, skating on the third line with Carl Soderberg and Chris Kelly.

The Bruins do not yet have an answer on Adam McQuaid, whose injury status remains up in the air, Julien said. They are expected to know more by the end of the week about whether or not McQuaid will be shut down with the groin injury that has plagued him since he reinjured it on Jan. 19.
