The last time the Blackhawks were in the visitor’s dressing room at the TD Garden, the floors were sticky with Champagne and there was a Stanley Cup to celebrate. The stakes aren’t quite so high this time – nor is the room quite so dirty – but there were definitely a few memories floating around the Chicago side this morning.
“It was fun,” Corey Crawford said. “It was a little surreal after it happened, but looking back on it now, it was just an amazing time. It was awesome.”
He wasn’t the only one who felt that way.
“It certainly is a great memory, was a great night,” Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said. “Unpredictable. Amazing ending. A lot of good memories, for sure.”
Not so for the Bruins, though they seem to be doing their best not to think about that night back in June that cost them a chance at a second Cup in three years.
“Obviously we would love to win, that’s our goal,” David Krejci said.
Still, he also acknowledged the reality. As he put it, “If we win tonight, we’re not going to get the Cup back.”
