Facing the prospects of heading back to Boston down 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, the Red Wings will get a major boost for Game 4, as captain Henrik Zetterberg is officially in the Detroit lineup.
Zetterberg hasn’t played since injuring his back in the Winter Olympics while playing for Team Sweden, and was considered a game-time decision heading into tonight’s contest.
The 33-year-old winger is one of Detroit’s best weapons, having scored 16 goals and 32 assists in the 45 games he played in 2013-14, and his missing presence from their lineup was a major factor in the Red Wings falling to the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Detroit will also have winger Todd Bertuzzi for Game 4 after he was a healthy scratch for the first three games. The Red Wings hope that Bertuzzi’s physicality can help jump start a Detroit team that has been beat up and beat down by the Bruins in this series.
With the returns of Zetterberg and Bertuzzi, Tomas Jurco found himself out of the Game 4 lineup. Jurco hasn’t recorded a point in the series and has a plus/minus rating of -1.
